ABOUT

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Open Book Project is a project designed to connect people across the globe via storytelling and creativity.

Twenty books have been sent around the world to be filled with different people’s stories and lives.

This website was designed to help connect those involved with the project with each other, as well as for interested people to follow the project's progress.

If you recieve a book, know that it is a truly open one – you can fill its pages with anything you like (writing, poetry, drawings, photos, a collage, etc).

Share a little piece of yourself with the world!

ABOUT ME (Project Creator)

My name is Alena, and I live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada with my boyfriend Jorel and our cat Bella. I am a Geography and Biology student at the University of Victoria studying wildlife conservation.

I love nature, photography, painting, drawing mandalas, birdwatching, and connecting with amazing people. I am fascinated with the aspects of human nature that connect people worldwide.

I started The Open Book Project as an experiment and an adventure. The goal of the project is to connect people globally via creativity and the fundamental truths that exist for everyone worldwide - regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexuality, language, culture or country of origin.

Thank you for being a part of this adventure!
